Texas Hold'em (Rules)
Texas Hold'em has come to be known as the 'Winner take all.' game,
high stakes and intense action has made Texas Hold'em one of the
most popular played poker games ever. The objective of Texas Hold'em
is to be the player at the end of the game holding the best 5 card
hand.
The dealer deals every player two Pocket Cards face down. In the
event of a misdeal (exposed card) the dealer must retrieve the
misdealt card and reshuffle/re-cut the cards. After the cards
have been dealt properly, all players place a bet. The dealer
discards (burns) a card. Next the dealer performs what is known
as The Flop by reviling 3 community cards. If the Flop contains
too many cards, it must be re-dealt. Once again the players' make
their wagers. The dealer will proceed to burn another card.
Following the burn he then will revile a fourth community card.
If the fourth card is reviled before the betting round come to
its completion, the card must be taken out of play. The betting
round is then completed. A card will be burned and the next dealt
will take the place of the misdealt (#4) community card. The deck
would then be reshuffled, to include the cards that were taken out
of play, but not include the burned cards. A fourth bet is then
placed by the players. Once more the dealer burns a final card and
reviling the last community card. A Final bet is placed by each of
the remaining players who will participate in the Showdown. The
Showdown is when all the remaining players revile their hands, best
cards showing first. Remaining players will have a choice of the
following:
- Five (5) board cards and Zero (0) Pocket cards
- Four (4) board cards and One (1) Pocket card
- Three (3) board cards and Two (2) Pocket cards
At this point the winner is determined and the player with the best
hand takes the entire pot. A player must declare that he/she is playing
the board before any cards are discarded. Failure to do this could result
in a relinquishment to all claims to the pot.
